Fixed LT6 Seating
SIS Global Seating’s LT6 lecture theatre seating can be installed in locations where a more luxurious level of comfort is required. The seat has a deeper seat base and lumbar support in the backrest, along with the design options of the Model LT2 lecture theatre fixed seat.
The upholstered seat can be tailored to suit individual design requirements, both in terms of dimensions and finishes. The underside of the seat can be either upholstered, exposed polished or a veneered plywood panel. The same detail can also be reflected on the outside of the backrest.
A number of alternative finishes of writing shelves are also available, including laminated, veneered, linoleum and solid timber. A wide range of seat cover fabrics is available, including tweeds, vinyl, velour and leather. All fabrics and seat foams meet the appropriate fire regulations.
The writing shelf width varies depending on the tier depth and rise per row of the lecture theatre. Please contact our design office for details.
The heights and lengths of the backrest can vary depending on the height of the lecture theatre’s tiered risers. Ideally, the top of the upholstered backrest will abut the underside of the writing shelf creating a modesty panel effect for the seats in the row behind.
Technical Features
Framework
- Steel frame constructed of 50 x 25 x 2.0mm ERW complete with 100 x 100 x 5mm thick floor plate and 50 x 10mm thick writing shelf support plate. 1 no pair of swivel brackets provided per seat place, complete with nylon bushes for friction free tipping action designed to give a minimum of 100,000 cycles of operation.
- All metal work to have all weld spatter removed prior to being thoroughly de-greased and de-scaled before being powder coated. Colour available from the British Standard or RAL colour range.
Upholstery and Shelves
- Seat base measures 440mm deep. Interior 18mm thick plywood base with all corners rounded and all sharp edges removed.
- Seat foam to be 75mm thick overall, consisting of 50mm thick, 6lb recon foam core topped with 25mm thick, 25/30kg/m3 CMHR foam. Top foam to be complete with skirt which is to be long enough to be wrapped over all edges of seat plywood base to give protection to the seat base covering fabric. Underside of the seat to be finished with 3mm thick plywood base covered with selected fabric.
- Back rests vary in depth owing to the height of the riser. Back rest has interior 15mm thick plywood base with all corners rounded and all sharp edges removed. Back foam to be 40mm thick with profiled lumbar support, 25kg/m3 CMHR foam. Back foam to be complete with skirt which is to be long enough to be wrapped over all edge of the back plywood base to give protection to the back unit covering fabric. Back unit complete with Tee nuts for assembly to the supporting metalwork. Back unit covered in selected fabric.
- Where the tiers of a lecture theatre are high the back rest can be extended so as to form a modesty panel for the seat row behind.
- Upholstery complies with BS 5852 Source Ignition 0,1 & 5 (Crib 5) flame retardancy standard.
- Chair and seat tilt mechanism has been tested to BS EN 12727:2000 Level 4 for strength & durability.
- Writing ledges to have various widths dependant on tier depth and riser height but has standard width of 290mm wide and laminated on one face with Formica Fundamentals laminate. All edges to be ABS type to match the writing ledge laminate.
- Portable writing shelf units can be provided for use by wheelchair bound students.
