Technical Data:
Explore the full technical specifications of the F6200 chair below. Discover its robust framework, flexible upholstery options, and adaptable configurations designed to meet the needs of lecture theatres, auditoriums, and multi-purpose seating environments.
- Backrest with tipping seat
- Sit height: 410mm
- Nominal centre of seat base top surface to floor pre-compression
- Sit depth: 460mm
- Min. seat centre: 450mm
- “Seat Centre” refers to a measurement taken between the centres of two adjacent legs, standard increments to seat centre are 25mm, ie; 550mm / 575mm / 600mm etc
- Recommended min. adult seat centre: 550mm
- Recommended adult seat centre: 600mm
- Max. seat centre: 650mm
- Avg. single seat installation weight: 17.5kg
- Stanchion rake angle: 75 degrees
- Min tier depth:
- Dependent on seats per row to regulations: 600mm to minimum seat quantity of 7 seats
- Rear of base plate to riser: 50mm standard
- may increase depending on riser height
- Minimum recommended spacing of base plate next to surface (wall / step etc): 50mm
- Tightest radius without individual arms: 7700mm
- For a tighter radius, shared stanchions/arms are not supported – each seat will require its own stanchion/arm to both left & right
- Tightest possible radius: 1750mm
- Tighter Radii than 1750mm result in adjacent user’s leg space becoming overly constricted
- Recommended largest radius: 40,000mm
- Should a radius exceed 40,000mm, the curvature typically becomes imperceptible.
- 85mm seat depth cushion with 45mm of shaped comfort upholstery grade foam including a “wrap” foam to encapsulate structural board edges for comfort and appearance
- Backrests include a curvature across the seat width combined with lumbar shaping vertically to provide a more ergonomic seat form, using 25mm of comfort upholstery grade foam including a “wrap” foam to encapsulate structural board edges for comfort and appearance.
- 5x100x230mm powder coated steel plate with hex head fixings into timber (minimum 24mm) or concrete.
- Base & backrest can be “backed” with either an upholstered or finished / painted timber panel.
- Timber finish options are typically sanded smooth then sprayed or sealed to customer specification.
- Painted finish is to customer specification.
- Note that painted finishes are typically less hardwearing than other options, customers will be supported in specifying finishes.
- Gravity assisted tip-up mechanism ensures that seat automatically “closes” when not in use to increase walkway.
- Nylon bushes ensure a smooth, lubricant free operation, with a hard wearing Stopper to reduce noise. Minimum operation of 100,000 cycles.
- Tested to meet the requirements of: BS EN12727:2016 test level 4.
- Stanchion leg base plates are fitted after flooring is completed (atop carpet / vinyl etc) and offer multiple M6 fixings to exceed the minimum required structural capacity – under test conditions, half of the allowed fixings are sufficient to provide more than minimum fixing strength – additional fixings are provided to allow for shorter fixings with slightly reduced structural capacity, to avoid unforeseeable substrate conditions, ensuring a robust and adaptable installation.
- Tested & Certified to meet the requirements of:
- BS 5852:2006 Assessment of the ignitability of upholstered seating by smouldering & flaming ignition sources, Section 4: Methods of test for the ignitability of upholstered composites ignition source 0, 1 & 5, Crib 5.
Options & Accessories:
Customise the F6200 chair with a range of options and accessories designed to enhance both functionality and comfort. From premium upholstery choices and armrest styles to integrated writing tablets and power solutions, every detail is crafted for reliable performance in demanding lecture and auditorium settings.
Seat base and backrest foam can be replaced with a recycled (and recyclable) sheet fibre product, sourced from recycled PET and clothing – inherently FR and nearly endlessly recyclable in a closed loop factory, this upgrade significantly improves product sustainability, both in manufacture and at end of life, as the material is commonly isolated for recycling by civic waste disposal and recycling centres.
Seats and backs are available:
“Sleeved” base with a backrest as per either of the below options – sleeving a simple, single cover that encapsulates all sides of the base cushion & is visibly stapled along the bottom rear edge where the staples are rarely seen.
“Upholstered Panelled” – a separate board is upholstered and affixes to the underside of the base cushion / rear of the backrest for an improved finish quality.
“Painted / Finished Panelled” – a separate board is either painted, laminated or timber finished and affixed to the underside of the base cushion / rear of the backrest for a contrast to the upholstered element.
Seats support both concrete tiering, and fixed timber or steel tiering – SIS offer in-house design of timber / steel tiering systems, with optional structural engineer approval when required.
The FD200 does not support the provision of power or data connections within the seat.
Optional row letters can be attached to the tiering / steps at end or row, or on the optional end of row panels, whilst numbers can be affixed to the underside of the base cushion / “tongue” of the timber backrest panel (if selected), above the backrest upholstery.
Where a floor is not level, stanchion legs can be packed to ensure a level installation for proper ergonomic posture within the seat – designs are reviewed to ensure sit height is not compromised.
When fitted with individual Arms/Stanchions, seats support a tighter radius to offer a U-Shaped, or entirely enclosed, Harvard lecture theatre setting.
